レッスンの時に先生が、
bargain = negotiate to get discountと書いてくれて、「日本語のバーゲンと英語の bargain は違うよ」と教えてくれたので調べてみました。
bargain
[名] 売買契約、取引、協定、約束、安い買い物、特価品

sale
[名] 販売、売却、売買、取引

日本語の「バーゲン」は英語では「sale」、英語の bargain は、「安売り」ではなく「安売りされている商品」のことを指すようです。
